Oudtshoorn Trip

Our Oudtshoorn tour consists of us picking you up in Knysna or Wilderness and taking you through to Oudtshoorn stopping for photos at viewpoints on the way, on the Outeniqua pass and into the karoo up to the top of the Swartberg pass (1584m above sea level) then back down for a visit to the Cango Caves which are limestone caves with a very impressive display of stalagmites and stalaglites. There is a option to do the standard tour or adventure tour which is slightly longer and involves a bit of crawling and climbing, a lot of fun but not recommended if you are cluastrophobic. From here your journey heads back into Oudtshoorn itself where we visit the Cango wildlife ranch where you will be able to learn about and view Crocs of different ages and interact with cheetah’s (additional cost)
With the oldest and biggest cheetah contact centre and preservation foundation. You are also able to view Bengal tigers. Lions, tigers, white lions, pigmy hippo’s, snakes, and birds. Another option is to cage dive (additional cost) with crocs exclusive to Cango wildlife ranch. Next onto the ostrich farm. Oudtshoorn was  founded from Ostrich farming in the 1800s. The feathers were a status symbol. Here you will get to learn the lifecycle of an ostrich, meet day old chicks, see incubators, and stand on ostrich eggs, feed ostriches, sit and ride an ostrich an watch some ostrich racing. After all this excitement we return you back to your Bed and Breakfast or Hotel.
